Pastoral Care Teams
On Rally Day, September 15, the Deacons unveiled a new way of offering pastoral care to our church members. We have formed five separate ministry teams…
Meals– provide meals, or baked goods
Visitation- visit with members
Home Needs– help members with small jobs around the house
Transportation- provide rides to appointments, church, etc
Mail– send cards, etc.
Many people signed up and that is wonderful. If you haven’t yet signed up- you can sign up at any time. Also, you can remove your name at any time. It is important to share that these are not committees, or lifetime commitments.
-Our hope—every member serve one ministry team (but you can serve more than one)
-You can start, stop, or switch ministry teams at any time
-We invite you to serve where your passion or your heart leads
-You can say “No” at any time.
-No one will serve alone.
-Even one small act every week or month is greatly appreciated
The church mission statement: “We seek to demonstrate God’s spirit…through ministry to the needs of the people in this church and the community.”
In the next month the ministry teams will begin to form. It will mean an initial meeting, and the team will determine how the ministry will do its work. More information will be forthcoming. There is no limit to the amount of people that can serve one ministry- after all, every member is a minister!
