Greetings and Happy Tuesday!
Perhaps you are choosing to indulge in the Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday festivities in preparation for the upcoming Lenten season. Enjoy that pizza, chocolate, shamrock shake while you can (though I wouldn’t combine all those things in one meal). Yes, Lent starts tomorrow-and it will bring us right to Easter on April 12. Many people will be giving things up for Lent, and others will be taking things on.
Here are some things that you can do in your church to enhance your Lenten journey…
Sunday worship! Each week will have a theme centered around a spiritual practice/discipline. 10 am
Tuesday evening Book Study (not tonight, but every Tuesday during Lent) – we will be reading and discussing Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline- one chapter each week. 7-8 pm.
Wednesday morning Bible/Book Study. We will be discussing the aforementioned book. 9:30-11 am
Friday evening Soup and Bread! 5-7 pm, drop in anytime! In addition to the awesome soups, there will be some live open mic/coffeehouse acoustic music to enjoy. However, we are encouraging food and fellowship- so you CAN talk to your table mates if you’d like.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE– Ash Wednesday is February 26. We will have a brief service for the rite and imposition of ashes at the end of Bible Study time. The service will begin at 10:45 am.
We will also have a worship service in the evening, 6 pm.
Peace-
Rev. Will
